Lori Christianson has a Master's Degree in Education Leadership. She's certified for Elementary Education and ESOL. Her teaching experience includes 17 years, two years teaching second grade and first grade for fifteen years in which she is so grateful to share her love of reading. This is her eighth year at Gulf Breeze Elementary. She's a graduate from Florida State University and got her master's through Troy State in Pensacola. She has spent many years on the board or Chairman for the Relay for Life and is active with the American Cancer Society. She has attended several technology trainings and loves learning about new and improved technology. Pensacola has been her home for most of her life. She and her husband moved to Gulf Breeze when they had their son, Jack who is now 4, so that he too could attend Gulf Breeze Elementary. They love bike riding, the beach and now t-ball:)
Mrs. Johnson began teaching at Gulf Breeze Elementary in 2011. Mrs. Johnson received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Dickinson College and her Masters of Education Degree from Florida Atlantic University with Certification in Elementary Education. Mrs. Johnson has 12 years of teaching experience and has taught grades Pre-Kindergarten through Second. When not teaching, Mrs. Johnson enjoys music, travel, and being a busy mom to her two children!
Melissa Jones is graduate from the University of West Florida and began teaching at GBE in the fall of 2014. She graduated with an Elementary Education degree and an ESE minor. She is certified in Elementary Education (K-6), ESOL, ESE, and Reading.
Mary Ann Proctor
Mary Ann Proctor graduated from Northern Illinois University in Chicago with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. She started her teaching career in Chicago, Illinois teaching 3rd grade for 2 years. After her move to Florida and subbing for a couple year she was hired at GBE and has taught here for 11 years. Mary Ann is a mentor teacher for our newly hired teachers for the primary grade levels. She also is involved with UWF and Pensacola State College with students that are doing practicums for the teaching field.
Mrs. Hartgrave grew up in Iowa and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. She also has an ESOL Endorsement. Her teaching career began in Texas in a 4th grade class but her love was with the little ones. The following year, she moved to a 2nd grade class. With her family, they moved to Santa Rosa County and she began teaching 1st grade. At the time, she did not realize how much she would love teaching 1st graders. She has fallen in love with each and every class and loves to watch their little faces light up throughout the year. She was thrilled at the opportunity to teach 1st grade at GBE and looks forward to making lasting memories.
Jane Wilkins has been teaching at GBES since 2003. She began in 5th grade and is now teaching 1st grade. Most of her 38 years of teaching experience have been in Grades 1, and a Multi-Age 1 and 2. She graduated from Texas A&I University with a B.S. in Ele. Ed. and received her Master’s Degree in Ed. Leadership from UWF. Jane has taught in Texas, North Carolina, and Florida. She holds certifications in Elementary Education as well as Middle School English and Science. Prior to coming to GBES, Jane taught first grade at Longleaf Ele. In Pensacola. Jane is also a BASI- certified Pilates instructor at Pure Pilates in Gulf Breeze.
